Term Bases Setting

All the projects on the TMS are linked to translation memories as well as term bases. The TB can be sent from the client who has a standard set of terminologies that the translator should stick to.

Notes:

If the TB is linked to a project from English into Arabic it searches for the English word and displays the translation in Arabic and vice versa.
The TB search performs filtration based on the language pair.
The search in the TB is for word by word or may be two words that makes a term.

To add a new Term Base, complete the following steps:

  • Click the Term Bases tab from the Projects New page.
  • Click the Add Term Base button. The following pop-up window is displayed.
  • Select the required Term Base.
  • Click the OK button. The Term Base is added to the project.

Note:

You can add many TBs to the same project.
 You can edit the TB options Read, Write and QA by selecting or deselecting the check box of each option.

The last option

 determines the priority of the TBs that enables you to move the TBs through the arrows up and down to set its priority accordingly. Also, you can delete the TB by clicking the X icon.

If you uncheck the Quality check box, it enables you to skip using he TB in your translation without giving you an error, as it becomes not submitted to the quality checks.

Then at the end when you finish selecting the required options, click the Save button.
